Aftercare

How long will I need to wait for my results after a lesion or mole removal?
Lesions and moles surgically removed within the clinic are sent directly to a laboratory for analysis. The results are usually received within 14-21 days, at which point they will be given to Dr Raza for review. A member of the team will then contact you directly to schedule your review appointment, if this hasn’t already been arranged.
I have a skin condition which I’d like help with
If you’re suffering from a skin condition Dr Raza will assess the affected area(s) and will be able to review these using a dermascope. If necessary, he will provide you with a private prescription or a treatment plan to follow at home. Dr Raza will write to your GP to notify them of your condition/concern and recommended treatment plan.
If I have a lesion removed will I require sutures/stiches?
Sutures, also known as stitches, will be required following surgical removal of skin lesions, but won’t be required for procedures such as mole shaving.
In some cases, depending on the location of the lesion, the sutures may be dissolvable and therefore won’t require an appointment for removal. More often than not however, these sutures will need to be physically removed. During your procedure Dr Raza will advise you as to when your sutures will need to be removed, and you will then need to arrange an appointment with your local GP surgery or NHS Treatment Room for this.
