How can Dr Raza help you?

Mole assessment & removal

Moles (or nevi) are pigmented growths on the skin, which can vary in appearance. While most are harmless, if you’re worried about the appearance of a mole, it’s advisable to consult a dermatologist in Clitheroe like Dr Raza. He offers expert mole removal in Clitheroe for both clinical and cosmetic reasons, ensuring that every mole removed is sent for laboratory analysis, which is included in the treatment cost. Dr Raza also offers mole mapping, using photography to monitor changes in your moles over time.

Cyst removal

Skin cysts are round lumps or bumps which can vary in size and are usually filled with fluid or pus. Most are asymptomatic and may disappear on their own over a period of time. If a cyst is causing you pain or discomfort, is rubbing on your clothing or making you feel self-conscious, you may prefer to have it removed.

Lipoma removal

Lipomas are fatty lumps, usually painless and slow growing, and they can appear anywhere on the body where there are fat cells, most commonly on the back, chest, neck, shoulders and arms. They are not routinely removed on the NHS unless they are growing or causing the patient discomfort owing to the location.

Skin conditions

Dr Raza offers assessments and guidance for managing common skin conditions, including eczema and psoriasis. He can provide tailored advice on effective treatment options, symptom relief, and long-term care strategies. With his expertise, patients can gain a better understanding of their condition and how to manage it. Dr Raza takes a patient-centred approach, focusing on individual needs and ensuring that each treatment plan is appropriate for their specific skin concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions on Dermatology Treatments

We aim to answer all your questions before your treatment. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or book a consultation to discuss your personalised treatment.

How long will I need to wait for my results after a lesion or mole removal?

Lesions and moles surgically removed within the clinic are sent directly to a laboratory for analysis. The results are usually received within 14-21 days, at which point they will be given to Dr Raza for review. A member of the team will then contact you directly to schedule your review appointment, if this hasn’t already been arranged.

I have a skin condition which I’d like help with

If you’re suffering from a skin condition Dr Raza will assess the affected area(s) and will be able to review these using a dermascope. If necessary, he will provide you with a private prescription or a treatment plan to follow at home. Dr Raza will write to your GP to notify them of your condition/concern and recommended treatment plan.

If I have a lesion removed will I require sutures/stiches?

Sutures, also known as stitches, will be required following surgical removal of skin lesions, but won’t be required for procedures such as mole shaving.

In some cases, depending on the location of the lesion, the sutures may be dissolvable and therefore won’t require an appointment for removal. More often than not however, these sutures will need to be physically removed. During your procedure Dr Raza will advise you as to when your sutures will need to be removed, and you will then need to arrange an appointment with your local GP surgery or NHS Treatment Room for this.
