At RejuvaMed, we offer two effective options for hyperhidrosis treatment in Manchester. The most popular choice is MiraDry, a permanent and cost-effective solution that usually requires just one session, unlike regular underarm Botulinum Toxin injections, which need repeating every 4-6 months. This solution is ideal for underarm sweat Manchester clients looking for lasting results.

What is the miraDry Treatment?

Hyperhidrosis, the clinical term for excessive sweating, often affects the underarm area, which can be particularly challenging. For hyperhidrosis Manchester patients, MiraDry offers an efficient, non-surgical solution that targets sweat glands directly, reducing underarm sweat in Manchester and enhancing quality of life. With MiraDry, results are typically immediate, enabling patients to feel more comfortable and confident.

Most people searching for hyperhidrosis treatment have at least two of the following symptoms:

Affected sweat areas are almost symmetrical, meaning you seem to produce the same amount of sweat in the same place on both sides of the body (e.g, underarms)

Sweat Hyperhidrosis Treatment Process

Step 1

After our aesthetician Rachael marks out the area to be treated, Dr Grant uses local anaesthetic to numb the entire area. This part is a little uncomfortable. Rachael applies a temporary tattoo to the underarm, and then places the miraDry handpiece on the skin, lining it up with the first line on the tattoo.

Step 2

Rachael activates the handpiece. Gentle suction pulls the skin and sweat glands closer to the handpiece surface to give optimum results.

Step 3

Thermal energy is delivered which destroys the sweat glands, whilst at the same time a cooling system protects the skin. This hyperhidrosis treatment phase is typically pain free.

Frequently Asked Questions

We aim to answer all your questions before your treatment.  If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or book a consultation to discuss your personalised treatment.
Don't I need sweat glands?
The body needs to sweat to allow cooling to take place. However, of the 2-4 million sweat glands that cover the body, only around 2% lie in the armpits. This means that we can safely eliminate these, whilst keeping our ability to cool down.
How does it work?
miraDry uses thermal (heat) energy which destroys the sweat glands in the skin, permanently. These don’t grow back. .
What results can I expect?
Results with miraDry are instant and permanent. Although results vary from one person to the next, clinical research has shown that on average, sweating is reduced by 82%. There is also a significant effect on odour, which is also reduced.
How many treatments will I need?
Usually one treatment gives excellent results. Some patients, particularly those with hyperhidrosis, will benefit from a second treatment after 3 months.
How long does it take?
Usually patients are in the clinic for just 90 minutes
Is there any pain or downtime?
The whole process is usually described as painless. The local anaesthetic injections use tiny needles which are uncomfortable, but once the skin is numbed, the miraDry treatment itself is typically pain free. There is minimal downtime. There can be some swelling, bruising and discomfort afterwards, but most patients will return to work immediately and resume exercise after a few days.
Is it safe?
miraDry has been used in hundreds of thousands of treatments worldwide, with an excellent safety record. It has been FDA-cleared in the USA, which means it has gone through a strict safety assessment.
Are there any side effects?
Some discomfort, bruising and swelling is common for a few days. Infection is very rare. We provide an antibiotic cream to use after treatment to help prevent this. In exceptionally rare cases, there can be altered sensation or tingling in the skin of the arm, which typically resolves over a few weeks.
How much does it cost?

A single treatment session is priced at £1550 £1495. If a second treatment is undertaken within 12 months of the first, it will be priced at £1325.

Is miraDry covered by the NHS?
miraDry is currently not offered by the NHS.
