Tear trough (under eye) filler is a specialist treatment requiring specific training and expertise. Dr McKeating uses a cannula for additional safety. If you feel as though your eyes always look tired, and that you have dark circles or a prominent groove below your lower eye area (the tear trough) then expertly placed dermal fillers could help to improve this.

Sometimes however, after consultation with a medical aesthetics professional such as our Medical Director, Dr Grant McKeating, it can be determined that adding dermal filler in to the tear trough will add too much weight in the skin and only serve to enhance the original problem, in which case a cheek augmentation may be suggested, to add ‘scaffolding’ and volume in the cheek area, thus lifting the skin and eliminating the visibility of the tear trough.

If you carefully research tear trough filler before and after images you will often find that the best results following this treatment are on those who already have good collagen and elastin production available within the skin, and simply had sagging in that one area, and these tend to be younger men and women. The most drastic tear trough before and after images for older men and women, whose natural collagen and elastin production levels are depleting, are often a result of additional enhancement supplied in the cheek area.
